Is there a download for a worldwide league?
Hey, i think i have the basics of the game down. Talk about a great idea! I am looking to create a league that is something of a snapshot (i was thinking right after the World Baseball Classic) that incorporates not only the MLB players, but all their minors, as well as leagues in other nations that run simultaneously throughout the year. THat way, when i send a scout to Japan, i am actually seeing the Matsuzakes of the league and not jsut searching for a random player with a Japanese name. This was probably getting out of hand, but i even wanted the U.S. college teams. I have been accused of being a completist before, but this is really what i wanted this game to do when i first got it.
I figured it would be a chore, so i wanted to snoop around and see if it had been attempted by any on this great community first. |

That sounds pretty ambitious; I have not heard of a roster set that includes real players from foreign leagues. You may want to scan our Mods forum yourself, or PadreFan's mod web site: Templates
But your best bet may be to use a Cubby's roster, or the one that comes with OOTP 8 (that one does include real minor league players; I'm not sure about whether the modders do the same), then add some foreign leagues yourself and do some editing to have some Matsuzakas in the game. |

Biting off more than i can chew with MOD ideas is somthing of an M.O. for me, i'm afraid. If it is just cut and pasting rosters and stats it may be tedius but not that hard. If all the info i'm looking for is in 15 different languages, it might be just plain silly. I realize i posted this in the wrong forum; I will put some feelers out in the MOD forum. Does this idea have any legs, or would i be the only one to enjoy it?

I doubt that it's as tedious as individually editing each player, identity, ratings, history season by season. But it's not as easy as cut and paste either, I bet. Probably a spreadsheet kind of job where much information is already compiled but must be linked to individual player ID's and the rest "fleshed out," so to speak. In any case, you would probably do well to post and inquire where those people hand out, the mods forum. Be aware that this a slack time of year for these forums, however. |

A quick question; it seems the Mods are all forward-compatible with newer versions of the game. Is that true? Nothing would frustrate me more than to work my tail off for a year only to find compatibilty issues with OOTP9, 10, 25, etc.
If a database existed with stats for college players and low-minor leaguers, would the game be able to understand that those stats were skewed by the level of competition before it assigned those players stats? |

You have to import it as a 2006 league, rather than just opening it up.
