OOTP 8 - league file/export problem
I'm in an online league, and over the last 3 days I've been experiencing a strange issue that is preventing me from downloading the league file from within the game as well as not allowing me to export my team. I've scanned the forums a bit, and I know it was brought up here briefly:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=158845 At the same time, the -202 error message has popped up in a few other threads, but I haven't seen the two errors mentioned together. First, the download issue. When I attempt to check for updates, it connects to the league site and states the usual 'Please wait: downloading league file.' After about 20 seconds, the "Error: Could not download file." Second, the export issue. When I attempt to export to FTP, it attempts to do so and gets to the 50% mark. Then the error message "Could not upload file. Error -202. Upload error." I then click on the help button from the window that popped up, and it gives the odd message: Page Base. "You have manually retired a player. This player can now be found in the list of retired players, in the league history section." I believe that message has been determined to be an error, but just in case it matters, I'm not the commish and couldn't retire anyone if I wanted to ![]() I've tried several things to make it work. I've totally wiped and re-downloaded the file from the website itself. I've uninstalled the game itself. I've checked patches, and the commish hasn't made any changes on his side either. I've turned off my firewall completely. And as I've been traveling cross-country, I've been in three different states the past few nights, so I don't think it is an ISP issue. I HAVE been able to export from other leagues - granted, they are 6.5 leagues. I just had my commish try to export for me, and he said that it worked from his end. I've confirmed this in our export tracker. Does anyone have any ideas what the heck could be causing these issues? I appreciate any help you can lend. |

Did the commish create a new full export of the league for you before doing this? If not, please have him do so. If he did (or if it didn't work), try having another GM download that same file and see if they have the same problem.

We sim each day, so a new league file is posted with each day. I had deleted all league files, and then downloaded them - a few times with each file. I had even tried it from 2007 (which I know is the same game for the most part) with the same errors.
Other GM's were having no issues with the file. Now, the good news. Despite there being three different ISP's from three different areas, I was able to get the upload and the file download to work today as I traveled to a fourth area (I'm driving cross-country currently). I have no idea what the settings are that would have prevented it from working in 3 different areas, but for now, it is working. Nothing else was changed, so I assume it has to be the ISP. Thanks. |
