Pitcher Fatigue

It may be that no one else will find this one, because this happened when I was trying to replay the as-played 1871 schedule with the real-life starting pitchers.

In 1871, teams tended to play 5 games in a week, and not play again for a couple of weeks. They generally had one-man rotations. So Asa Brainard was already exhausted when he started against the Chicago White Sox on May 19, 1871. Everything proceeded normally through the sixth inning, when Brainard struck out his first batter of the game to preserve a 2-2 tie. As it turned out, neither team would score again, with no reliever being used, until the 16th inning. Brainard not only scored the win, but he also struck out 24 batters in innings 7-16. Brainard has a Stuff rating on the 250 point edit screen of 1.

This is obviously a bug, and my hypothesis is that Brainard's fatigue pushed his stuff rating into negative numbers and the rating rolled over to 255 or whatever the theoretical maximum is. It may be that no one can encounter this bug unless they're playing out games from the early history of baseball, but I still wanted to report it. A possible solution would be to allow pitcher fatigue to be edited or cleared, just as injuries can be cleared from the edit screen. Or not allow ratings to push into the negative numbers as a result of fatigue.

Which version of the game were you using when you found this error? I've heard of similar issues in the past.

Since this thread has gone some time without a response, it will be closed for housekeeping reasons. However, if someone has seen similar behavior, please post it in Tech Support so that we can get it figured out.
