Waiver claims broken
In my online league, the waiver claims pay no attention to record/order. I had the GM of the worst team in my league tell me he's losing claims (on players from both leagues) to teams with better records. I tested this by claiming somebody he had already claimed (I am 4 games under .500, he is about 15+) and I won the claim.
Anyone?

The latest and greatest. 2.0.3.68 or something. The final patch. In the older patches, it seemed to work ok, but now the game seems to be ignoring records for waiver claims.

Yeppers, I just lost another one. I've had the worst record in the league for about 7-8 weeks straight now. I'm 29-69 compared to the winning team who is 40-58. We sim one week at a time, so it's impossible that at any point during the claim period that the team had a worse record than I did.

Hmmm.
This is odd. I set up a fictional league and simmed through to the beginning of June. I then applied as GM to the team with the second best record and put a player on waivers. I then acted as the team with the third best record and was able to claim said player. I then simmed a day, and nobody else put in a claim. I then switched to act as the team with the best record and the claim was rejected, as it was by any team with a better record than the claimer. I was able to claim the player by the team with an equal record in the other sub-league though. Simmed another day and the team with the worst record also put in a claim and they were accepted and I couldn't get a non-rejected claim from acting as any other team. As far as I'm aware there isn't an option for last come last served with waivers.

Yeah, it sucks. But as far as I can tell, there are going to be no more patches for v2007 because of a business decision to part with with SI. If there were to be a patch, which there probably won't be, it will be to v8 anyway. It really makes me not want to purchase any new games. I'm just beginning to hate this "new game every year at any cost" mentality. FOF gets it right.

I was trying it in version 8 and don't have 2007 on my machine now. I'm surprised that this wasn't picked up in beta for 2007 as it seems a fairly obvious thing.

There are quite a few "blatant" bugs that are very annoying, especially for online leagues. But like I said, with Spring approaching, I guess people will have to pony up for a new game.

Sadly, I can confirm that our league is having trouble with waiver claims as well. In several instances claims have been put in for players on irrevocable waivers and yet those claims have been ignored by the game. This has led to some complaints from my owners. I very much hope this is something being targeted to fix for OOTP 9.

Has anybody managed to get a correct waiver claim in an online league? It appears the problem is restricted to online leagues so it would be handy to know if affects every waiver.

I haven't confirmed a pattern yet, but it almost seems like the problem is affecting particular teams. I notice that our Kentucky and Charleston franchises have been hit with this multiple times, while other clubs like Tempe seem to be able to make claims without issue. That's completely anecdotal, though; I'll have to observe more closely before saying that's definitely what's happening. |

I don't know if the commish in online sees all the claims or not. Do you think that situation did include other claims, or is it possible it simply went through because it was the only one?

I've had it happen in cases where only 1 team made a claim and in cases where multiple teams made claims. (although I'm relying on my owners for this information so it might not be 100% accurate) |

And it doesn't always happen. Sometimes waivers get processed and the player moves to a new team (although it may be to the "wrong" team, ie not the claiming team with the worst record. It's all sort of hit and miss. |

How does this work in online leagues?
The Commish sends out an updated league file and then the GM's make their decisions and send back the file and the Commish reads them in and the game puts it all back together? Do all the read ins take place at the same time? Is it possible that uploads get read in at different times and the game just loses track of what's going on?

Tricky question to answer this I imagine.
Is there any link between the order the uploads are read in and the team that wins a waiver claim?

This needs to be fixed for the mass of us having purchased OOTP 2007/8. It's difficult to work around this.
