Game will not load
Whenever I try and load any league, or start any new league, the game gets to the 100% Finalizing point and hangs there. There's no actual crash, but no matter how long I leave it, it never loads and uses all of the memory in my system.
Using v 8.0.0.13, but it was the same with 8.0.0.12. Tried reinstalling, still experiencing the same problem. Disabling AV doesn't do anything. Using XP Pro with 1024 MB of RAM. |

You mention loading leagues. Does that mean that you had the game working at some point? If so, which version was it? Did you change any settings since then?
If you disable FaceGen from the game preferences, will the leagues load then? |

The problem started when the program crashed last night while on v.0.0.12. The program would crash on the "100% Finalizing" stage on the loading screen. I've updated to v0.0.13 and reinstalled the program since then. Facegen being off allows me to get to the league, but it crashes. Last edited by Tavarin; 12-31-2007 at 06:52 PM. |

Just to verify, the faces.dat file isn't empty in any of your leagues, and you are having crashes in multiple leagues with FaceGen off?
Could you try both FaceGen troubleshooting modes to see what happens? |

The faces.dat file is in every league, and in every league, it crashes with both FaceGen on and off. Even when I switch to either FaceGen troubleshooting mode, it instantly hangs at the 100% Finalizing screen and sucks up all of my RAM until I have to close it.

Are you sure your video card is supported by FaceGen?
This seems to be a FaceGen related problem. If so, can you try starting a new league with the demo of OOTP2007 and see if that works?

Furthermore, do you have updated drivers for your video card?

The problem still happens, although all the league files work in OOTP 2007.

If you can catch me on AIM, my username there is the same as here. You could try sending me the .dat files and I could test them on my copies of the games to verify that I get the same results. I can't imagine why it ought to load on one and not the other.

Talking to Tavarin on AIM. His league loads fine on my copy of OOTP 8, so it seems like an installation issue. We're trying a few things out.

Deleting the OOTP files in his Application Data folder and reinstalling did the trick.
