Art for start-up fictional league
Hello all! I'm the commissioner of the Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance (PEBA), a start-up 24-team fictional league that's just two weeks into its first season. We've been lucky to bring some outstanding, highly creative owners into the fold. Unfortunately we lost one owner just before we began play... naturally the one who was going to design our teams' logos/caps/jerseys! The rest of us collectively possess little to no artistic ability whatsoever.
I haven't given up on this. I've been pouring over the info on this forum and have been trying to learn GIMP. But I have to admit I don't have much skill in this area, so I'm bringing the case to you guys. I absolutely hate to impose, but if anyone here has the skill, the inclination and some free time this holiday, I cannot tell you how much I'd appreciate the assistance. Here's a small .zip file containing an Excel sheet with colors for each of our teams. It also has pictures of each teams' current generic jerseys & caps. A few of the owners submitted "inspirational art" - a picture they thought might work as a logo. I've included those as well; feel free to use them or not as you see fit. Finally, two versions of the PEBA banner are included. They're pretty rudimentary; if you can improve on them, that'd be a great bonus. Beyond that, the only limit is your imagination! Below is a listing of the teams in our league. I'll boldface any that get logos and color those with caps/jerseys. Again, my most heartfelt thanks to anyone who takes the time to help on this! ![]() Arlington Bureaucrats - Thank you truthserum! knuckler, that work is simply amazing! I've sent the art off to the respective owners. All the feedback I've gotten so far basically falls into the category of giddy amazement at the quality.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help us out and for doing such a bang-up job!

That's just outstanding, truthserum! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to create something of that high level of quality. My owners and I enormously appreciate knuckler's and your efforts!

Here's a shot with a PEBA logo that plays off one of the ones in your zip. 3 different sizes, 300x300, 200x200, 150x150.

I like the color scheme of the banner. It looks clean and simple....nothing wrong with that. Looks the right logo got cutoff at the bottom though, if you hadn't noticed already.

I may have to check with F. Montoya about changing the template for our website. The fact that it's stretchable is nice for scaling to different resolutions, but it makes getting a banner look right a pain.Absolutely every owner who I've gotten feedback from has loved the work you guys have done. It's incredibly generous, guys, and I have to say again how much I appreciate your efforts. |

I see you made the league logo your avatar....that's a nice compliment.
Here it is in 125....try this one out and see if it comes out a little cleaner. Last edited by truthserum; 02-24-2008 at 11:42 AM. |

I like that one knuck.
I found that it's actually easier to make them a little bigger so Vector Magic can get the writing to come out clear. Had some trouble trying to get the wording on that Arlington Bureaucrats to come out cuz the wording was small...especially if you are putting a stroke around the letters like I did with the Charleston one. I was a little surprised that it came out relatively clean, actually. |

I continue to be blown away by the level of quality here! Great Duluth logo truthserum, and I've already lavished praise on knuckler's Coal Sox design over at our forums (where he's kindly been taking requests).
Speaking of requests, the Charleston Statesmen owner wanted to pass along that he loves the logo design but wondered if he could have a solid maroon design for his jerseys. He'd prefer no vest and no pinstripes. If that's a problem, don't worry about it. Frankly I think they look fantastic the way they are right now. Plus I really like the vests. ![]() As you see, I was able to get your logo displaying properly as my avatar, truth! My problem was that I used the one "art" program I have access to here to shrink down the first logo. The program that I used is... uhhh... MS Paint. Yeah, I'm slightly less advanced in this area than you guys.
