Staff Issue

I started a league using 2008 and noticed that my minor league teams had no staff. Didn't pay much attention to it the first season due to the fact that I figured they'd be auto-hired without me needing to worry about it.

I am now just beginning season two and there are still no staff members hired for my minor league teams with the exception of my lowest team having a manager, hitting coach, and a scout.

If I go into the available staff listing, there isn't a single person there. However, if I go into the staff search there are 2,009 people there with most of them unemployed. When I try to right-click on their names to get the hire dialog box to pop-up, the only options I get are to Open Person Profile and Shortlist Person.

I've tried going back through the league setup to generate staff, but I can't find anything that will do that.

Any help would be great.

BTW - I used the default MLB roster set with actual players, made limited trades prior to the first season starting, and didn't use Commish mode at all. I am running the game on a laptop with Vista, 1.86 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, approximately 55% free HD space.

Are you using the latest patch? I know it was supposed to add more staff.

In the Available Personnel screen, make sure that you choose the Clear Filter option if it is selectable on the Filter dropdown. Also, change the Prefered Occupation dropdown to All Coaches. Does that do the trick?

I do have the latest patch for 2008 (as far as I know 2008 hasn't been patched yet, has it?).

There is no filter on in the Available Personnel. I tried that a couple different times.

I am now a few more seasons in, and slowly as teams' contracts run out, there have been a few options available for personnel, but not nearly enough to fill all my minor league staffs.

Yes, there have been a number of patches for OOTP8. A full re-install of version 8.0.0.13 should provide you with a modified quickstart (for new games) that includes more coaches:
