Hatton-Mayweather

Well guys, we're only 6 days out. Been looking forward to this fight since it was announced several months ago. Can honestly see Floyd winning an 8-3-1 decision, but will be rooting for Ricky all the way.

Any thoughts?

I think it all depends on how much Hatton is allowed to get away with from the ref. If he is allowed to use his rough house tactics it could be a long fight for Mayweather.

In the end I think the decision will be similar to the De La Hoya fight, where Floyd clearly wins 8 to 9 rounds but wins a narrow decision.

I have a feeling everyone including the judges will be rooting for Hatton, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Hatton get a gift the way Casamayor did.

I'm really looking forward to it either way. At a PC, Floyd asked Hatton if he was prepared to die? Floyd's a great boxer & all but I don't think Ricky is afraid in the sense that Floyd could hurt or kill him like fighters who faced a prime Tyson or Foreman did.

Could Floyd beat up Hatton like he did Gatti? Sure, that's possible but at worst Floyd could just easily outbox & make Hatton look silly - hardly a case where he'd be in fear of dying in the ring.

I believe if Hatton is to win he is going to have to earn it, but if the referee lets him get away with the mugging he did against Kostya then he certainly
has a shot.

Have you guys been watching the Mayweather Hatton 24/7 on HBO?..How can you not root for Ricky.First episode he was mimicking Floyd This chain 600,000 this watch 400,000 than in classic fashion he says who gives a sh**. Love it I really hope Ricky can get inside on flloyd and land something. My only concern when watching the 24/7 even though he wasn't sparring just hitting that body bag his face got pretty damn red and he wasn't even getting hit I believe cuts may play a factor in this one

I'm not rooting for Ricky ... I've become a fan of his over the years but I like Floyd better.

I agree 100%. Pretty lame comment imo.

Afraid I have bet against the flag!

Unfortunately I see a wide margin points victory for Mayweather, just don't think Hatton has the skill to get to Mayweather.

If I report you to the authorities will you have to turn in your card or something?

LOL ... Hatton has the style to cause PBF trouble ... just not sure how much the ref will let him get away with.

Depending on what my odds are I might put $20 down on Hatton.

Off to the Tower Of London!

Hatton is 2/1 on the exchanges over here.

British fighters prices normally contract on the night as the alcohol kicks in, a long old session from 8 till 5 in the morning.

I Hatton will be staying on the strip for a week after the fight the way he is working his standup at the Manchester presser.

I hope my boy Hatton wins, but he will have to stay glued to Mayweathers chest the entire night to have a shot.

Thanks Tommy. You mean Floyd's comment or mine? LOL, just kidding.

BTW, I saw a tale of the tape yesterday on-line & Floyd appears to be the slightly larger man except in one area & I wonder if that's correct? For respective fist sizes, Floyd's was listed as 8 & Hatton was 11 1/2 - is that correct? If so, those are huge! I recall hearing Mayorga has huge hands too before fighting 6 Heads Lewis.

Naturally, having big hands & being able to land punches are two different things.

I like Hatton by TKO anywhere from 5 to 8.

I think Floyd is not only underestimating Hatton, but overestimating his own performances during the past two years. He did not do well versus DLH, and his foot speed has really fallen off.

I think that Hatton will surprise everyone with the quickness of his feet and speed of his hands. Similar to what Cotto did to Mosley, but I don't believe that Mayweather's chin is nearly as good as Mosley's. Not even mentioning the heart factor.

Okay ... he only won 9 out of 12 rounds against ODLH so maybe he has fallen off since he didn't win all 12 against a naturally bigger guy.

Who knows how Mayweather's chin is since he rarely if ever gets hit on it. As far as heart goes ... I've always said that's a term (along with warrior) used to describe fighters who get hit in the face a lot.

I'm not saying Hatton won't win but to say the P4P best fighter in the game and probably the P4P best fighter of the decade will get blown out is a bit odd. Esp. considering Hattons previous adventure at 147.

I know a ton of people hate Floyd but there should be no question about his skill level.

I'd say Hatton's current odds are 50/50 with the help of GBP, 20/80 without it. But I've been totally wrong before (Calzaghe/Lacy anyone??)

To add fuel to the fire.

Hatton's odds have been tightening on the exchanges all day today, he is now the shortest he has been since the markets were formed.

1.82/1

There has been speculation over here that PBF will pull out with hand trouble.

Tosti.....Do you have any idea if there has been unusual betting patterns for the fight? It's common knowledge that if a fight is fixed, people would start heavily betting on the underdog based on inside information (i.e. Hatton)

I've been keeping an eye on that here too but my site still has it at 2.7 to 1. That's where I laid my $20 on Hatton at also so I am locked in.

I will wait and order the fight until Saturday when I'm sure it's going to happen.

Hatton has shortened a fair bit in % terms over the last 24 hours, but most of the volume will be going on over the next couple of days.

The graph below shows how his price has moved since Betfair (the biggest betting exchange in the UK) opened the market.

The volume figure is the ammount matched at each level in £, this will pick up markedly running up to the fight.

The second image shows the trading prices as of 10pm Wednesday night.
