Release Players

So long one other question from me as a "learning newbie"... im not familiar with all aspects of contracts and so on... for you this might be an easy question because you rised with the Baseball-Thing in the States... for me in Germany it´s not sooooo easy to get infos of every aspect of the Game.. so some Things i just don´t understand until today..

So my question:
What is with the Salary of a player I release from my Team? Will it count against me for the whole time of the rest-contract...? (If i would release only for example Henderson... he has a contract for 1999 with 4.1 Mill $, in 2000 4.5 Mill. $ and 2001 5.0 Mill. $.... will this count against my Team Salary in the years 1999, 2000 and 2001 although he is not in my team and maybe signed from another team..??)

I think what'll you find is that if you release him, it will pop up a box saying it will add $x million to your payroll, and I think if you release a player with a contract like that you have to pay him off with his outstanding salary there and then, so he'd be due $13.6 million if you released him.

redsoxford is right on man.
The game will let you know how much you owe said player.
The only exception is if the player has a Minor League Contract. Once he is released he is gone.
