This Guy needs a nickname

First some background about my league. It is a 12 team, one league, one division league. We play a 88 game season, no financials. I manage the Shreveport Captains, and that is all I do. I allow the computer to make my trades, draft picks, sign and release players etc. I simply make the lineups and play out the games(I sim to the 7th inning of all games and play out the rest)

Well, 2 seasons ago my GM decided to trade away one of my favorites, my CF for basically nothing. I was pissed to say the least. Hell, my backup outfielders were crap and my prospects were really young. I play with ratings off and no minors, so there appeared to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

Wow, was I wrong. In stepped Lawrence Whittleton. A twenty-one year old phenom from Newnan, Georgia. Whittleton hit .383 in first seaon in the bigs, going 119 for 311. He also stole 27 bases. So, was this first season a fluke, or did I have a superstar in my grasp???? Whitteton's second season was even more amazing. He hit .433 going 156 for 360 in 81 games. He stole another 26 bases. Overall, this guy is hitting .410 (275 hits in 671 at bats). His carerr OBP is .446.

But and it is a Oprah sized butt, is where things get strange. Whittleton has 671 at bats, 4 career triples, 7 career homeruns and are you ready???????????-again are you ready????????====he has 2 (thats right 2) career doubles. He hit 1 double in his first year and 1 in his second year. ??????????????????????????? This guy must be the best slap hitter ever. He is 6' 0" 200 pounds. Wow.

What should his nickname be? one bag? slapper? your help would be appreciated.

2 in 671 ABs? Dang, I saw one guy one time who probably averaged one every 80 ABs or so But, generally hit for homer power to some degree (at least of 15-20 HR sort)

I'd go with Whittle too. (or maybe Whitney )

I think John Mayberry didnt have but like 6 doubles in one of the last years of his career in about 350 ABs. But he did hit about 20 HRs.

Plus I remember at one point in his final year McGwire had like 29 HR and 4 2Bs.

But this guy isn't a power hitter, and he is fast enough to steal 20+ bases.

Name him after me. I don't get to second base very often, either...

I know, you'd think he could get to 2nd on a hit every once in a while

Though having more triples than doubles is rare, too.

I did just think of one guy to some degree.

1970s SS Enzo Hernandez he'd have about 500 ABs hit about .210, and have maybe 10 2Bs maybe 11 EBHs. Have a HR every 3 years or so. Maybe in those 500 Abs have 20 RBI. It is the closest I can think of. (I think Enzo did have a slight bit of speed, not really steal worthy speed though)

Lawrence "Little 1" Whittleton.

Little 1 for the fact that he is only a singles hitter....hits only a little one base hit..... Plus it sounds cool saying it outloud....

I think that Willie Keeler was the king of the slap hitters with the Baltimore chop. On the other end of the spectrum, Jose Canseco has a lot more HR than doubles for his career - especially true towards the end of his career. In '98-'98 he had 44 doubles to go along with 80 HRs. Anyways... I'll go along with "Little 1" - Or what about "Whittle one Littleton"?
