Ratings questions

1) When a fighter fights another from a higher weight class how are his ratings effected? For example, if a welter moves up against a middleweight is his HP decreased?

2) How are the ratings (HP, KD,CF, etc.) of a fighter effected in the various career stages (Beginning, Pre-Prime, Prime, Post-Prime, End)?

Yes - If a fighter moves up in weight several "rating varibles" will be effected - HP will be decresed if a WW moves up to fight a MW or JMW -

Cap (over at his website) has a formula put through where you can make these "tweaks" yourself.....and by-pass the changes TBCB automatically adjust if you select it to do so....

It will only change the rating if the "adjust for weight class differences" box is check marked and you won't be able to see what the differences are.

Thank you for the responses. If I move Lloyd Honeyghan up from welter to fight a middleweight, will the game automatically decrease his HP from 8 to 6?

And if Honeyghan then moved up to Supermiddle, would his HP drop to 5?

Does the game make the same adjustments to all fighters when they move up in weight or are some less affected by it than others? (For example, fighters with overall ratings of 10+ are less affected by upward weight movements than fighters with ratings of 9 or less.)

Are the specifics written anywhere for how ratings are affected in the various career stages? Or for moving up in weight?

(I love this game!)

They are all effected exactley the same if the weight adjusted button is check marked ... the adjustments are hidden and IMO way too extreme for career stages and weight differential.

The DB group for the new game is trying to get ratings for fighters at different weight classes so it won't be necessary. My suggestion would be to add a new rating and adjust what you think should be adjusted for a weight movement and don't leave it up to the game.

Good luck and have fun.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm looking forward to TB3, but am getting much enjoyment from TB2. I played Title Bout the board game for hours upon hours in the early 80's and still have the bout sheets from all those matchups in my basement along with the game itself. It was a great introduction to boxing history for me. To be able to play the game again with so many fighters available is a real joy. Kind of like Christmas to look through the message boards and discover a rated fighter that I can put into the game.

I've got much appreciation for those who have taken the time to rate fighters and share them on the forum. A huge thank you to all of you who've done that. The shared photos are also super cool.
