Minnesota Vikings 2007-2008

Maybe this will be a fun year...

Pluses:
1) Didn't go 3 and out on the first series.
2) Kevin Williams INT and TD (54 yards!)
3) Defense looked great sacks and INTs
4) AD looked like a #1 round pick

Minuses:
1) Roughing the passer on the first play of the season (defense, obviously).
2) Sidney Rice's oopsies.
3) T-Jack running the ball like a madman. Looked fast, but silly way to hold the ball.

Usually, when I laugh at a Vikings game, it's because of a stupid play (like their roughing the passer on the first play).

Good defense and AD looked great out of the backfield. With Chester getting hurt early, AD stepped up and did what he needed to do. I also was impressed with the play calling as they didn't seem to throw away plays like they did last year. Awesome game to start the year.

I'm assuming you mean Sidney Rice? We don't have Simeon Rice. He's a DE that plays for the Broncos.

I was actually impressed with this game although it look again like our defense might score more TD's than our offense, but hopefully that'll change once T-Jac gets use to playing. And also AD will be a beast and hopefully have a rookie year like Marooney or Cadillac.

Looked like that last year too.

What were Sidney Rice's oopsies? I thought the played well. Made a couple catches, almost made a great catch, and was solid blocking (especially on the TD).

And of course AD was brilliant and the defense was awesome. A nice first game.

Actually, it was just an oops early on. Third down he pulled up short of the first down marker. It really wasn't much, but a rookie mistake, imo.

Ah gotcha... that was a mistake, but as you said, a rookie mistake. I really think Rice will become our #1 WR sooner rather than later.

The Vikings are going to be good this year. I picked them to win their division.

Definitely something that he'll fix after seeing himself do it. It wasn't a big deal at the time, although sucks completing a play on 3rd down and not getting the first. I don't really know a whole lot about him, but looks like he is going to be a good wide reciever.

The announcers compared him to a Moss type WRer in that once the ball is in the air, he can do it all. I don't know if thats a good comparison or if he's like that, but if he is, I'm going to like him.

Will continue to be evaluated. Questionable for next week thought Childress sounded optimistic.

Taylor is out for today.

What was that play call on the Jackson INT and what a rookie mistake trying to force it in there. A good drive that ended terribly and made the Vikings look very inexperienced.

Weird. The defense does the opposite that the offense did. Defense looks like it is going to get walked all over, then the bad drive ended wonderfully with a INT.

Another poor offensive drive and defensive stand. They're just lucky that Kitna dropped that ball on 3rd after an OOPSIE by a Lions reciever for not knowing where the first down line is.

Lucky defense...so far

Again, I thought Jackson had a good arm? Short changed that throw

Defense just can't do anything against the pass. Kitna to Williams was a bullet.
