Rating way to low

Ok i just started an online league and I noticed the rating were really low like Johan Santanas talent is 79 59 70, and everybodys is messed up like that. Is there anything I can do besides going through and editing all of them.

Are you seeing unrealistic performances as a result of those ratings? Roster makers are generally very careful about balancing their ratings to get the statistical output right, and the reality is that, using default settings, pitchers especially don't need to have maxed-out ratings in order to succeed. That's a game-design thing: if too many players occupy the very top end of the ratings range on an everyday basis, there's no where for the game to go when it wants to simulate that once-in-a-generation superfreak.

Unless you're seeing poor performances from your supposed top players (keeping in mind, of course, the perils of sample size and that even stars can have a bad week, month, or even season), this isn't something I'd worry about. Rather, I'd simply take a look around your league, and adjust your own notion of what ratings constitute a "top" player.

To more directly answer your question, though: no, there is no way to affect a mass change of all the ratings of the players in a league at once. That's why creating roster set mods is such a massive, months-long undertaking.

What you can control on a wide scale, though, are the abilities of new players as they come into your universe through the Amateur Draft. On your League Setup --> Strategy screen, changing some of the various Player Creation Modifiers will result in new players having higher or lower ratings/potential in the changed categories. But those are pretty powerful tools, so, again, I wouldn't mess with them unless you're finding an actual problem with the performances and statistics of your league.

We had actually spoken some on AIM. Santana was given a good relative rating to the rest of his league (79 OVR out of 80).

Steven, is there anything else that we can help you with in regard to this matter?
