Big Money Baseball

The Big Money Baseball League is starting up with the 1965 season and includes full minors with MLE-based ratings for ALL players who made even a token, one-game appearance in the bigs at any point in their careers. This creates minor leagues that matter, and are composed of real players.

In addition, real coaches, managers, scouts and GMs are included to flesh out the immersion factor.

League Name - Big Money Baseball
League URL - http://legendsport.com
League Type - Historical with minors
Special Rules - Includes REAL minor league-based ratings for ALL players who made an appearance in the big leagues
# of Teams - Historical (20 in 1965, with historical expansion down the road)
OOTP Version - 2007, and you need the sim to participate

As of now, there are is one team open: California Angels

Twins are gone. The site is back up and running if anyone was getting timed out, you'd be safe to try again.

Astros are now off the table as well.

That leaves the Indians, Angels and Senators. All three have some potential and some talent already on the roster and the farm.

Indians' and Senators' openings have been filled. That leaves the Angels.

Anyone want to wear a halo?

Looks like you've done a lot of work setting up 1965. Is it possible to save your starting position as a Quickstart and make it available to solo players?

That's possible. I'll look into it and do it if it's not too much work.

The league is now full and we are just about to get started. Just thought I would share the HTML that I just made up for the league. I played off the green background that Joe used on the league logo I made, on the front page. Anyone that has interest in playing in this era, should consider joining in the future, Joe is a great commish.

Hey there. I'd be interested in joining when the Pilots come into existence. I believe they spend one year in Seattle (1969) before moving to Milwaukee in 1970 and become the Brewers.

The Cleveland Indians and New York Mets are available. Their GMs never submitted anything, and we've reached the June draft, so I have to get some warm bodies in there.

The draft itself is tomorrow with the Mets picking 2nd and the Indians 7th. Included in the draft pool are guys like Rick Monday, Don Sutton and some kid from Texas named Nolan Ryan. I hear he's got a good fastball.

Anyway, first-come, first-served on the openings. You can check out the Mets and Indians on the Big Money website.

The Indians' opening has been filled. The Mets remain available. Can you re-create the Miracle? Take them over and find out...

I don't know about that miracle, but I'd certainly welcome the challenge.

If the Mets are still available (your website says league full), I'll take on the Mets. Find me here or at any of the following:

The Mets opening has been filled, but the Baltimore Orioles are now available. We just wrapped up the 1965 World Series and are entering the offseason with free agency starting tomorrow. So it's an ideal time to jump in and take over a very talented Baltimore club.

The Orioles are still available, and the Senators are now also open. We are currently in the off-season between the '65 & '66 seasons.

The Orioles won 89 games, finishing second in the just-completed '65 season and have a very solid core. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Senators finished last in the AL and are clearly in rebuilding mode. The Orioles would be the choice for a GM wanting to step in with a good team while the Senators will provide a challenge for a "builder" type GM.

The New York Mets are (again) available. The Orioles and Senators also remain available. We've got a solid group of GMs, just need a few more stable folks to round out a fantastic group.

The league is currently entering spring training for the 1966 season.
