Hey we just simmed our first week ever in PTB history...Check us out at the link at the bottom of the page. It was a great success and a long time waiting to begin this league...but we're looking foward to a great seaon. Hope you'd join us as well.
[B]Season Opener: Week 1 Recap[B] San Diego, Philadelphia among big surprises -Padres Rollin' The league finally of it's feet and is now currently under way after simming Opening Day and Opening Week. The live sim ran for about an hour between 9 pm EST to 10 pm EST Overall it was a huge succes for the players, the fans, the teams, the GMs, and the commishes. The season kicked off with the Angels getting their first win over CC Sabbathia and the Indians with a 2-0 shutout. Jarrod Washburn pitch 7 and 2/3 shutout innings and earning him the game's MVP.. Four teams now claim the best records in the league, all starting off the season with 5-1 records. Those teams are Minnesota, Seattle, New York Yankees, and the New York Mets. All currently stand alone atop their respective divisions. Making big surprises we're the San Diego Padres and the Philadelphia Philles, who both start the season off with winning records. The Padres (4-2) are the first place team out in the NL West, posting a 3 game sweep over division rivals San Francisco Giants and winning one against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Philadelphia (4-2) shocked the PTB world with a 3-game sweep over Florida Marlins and taking the last game of the first series between Atlanta Braves. They are second place in the NL East. [B]PEAK PERFORMANCE of the WEEK[B] Our peak performer of the week goes to Mets pitcher Christy Mathewson. In his PTB debut, he went the distance coming shy of a perfect game with a 2-Hit shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mathewson is currently 3rd in the league in 0.64 ERA and tied for the PTB league lead with 2 wins. Detroit's Grissom and Houston Jeff Bagwell win Player of the Week award Marquis Grissom from Detroit wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the American League. Marquis was on fire, hitting .417 with 2 HR and 8 RBI. Marquis managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. It's the 1st time that the National League Player of the Week award goes to Houston's first baseman Jeff Bagwell. He hit .440 with 7 RBI and slugged 1.000 in 25 at bats.
