Not Enough Players On Active Roster?
I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with this game lately, but here's my most recent problem I was hoping someone could help me with...
I created a fictional league called the GABL. Each organization has one AAA, AA and A team to go along with the big club. I finished setting up the league and I wanted to sim the first 25 years in commissoner mode from 1982-2007. Here's the message I get when I begin to sim April 1 of 1982, the first day of games in the league's history: 'Austin has an illegal number of players on the active roster (0)' So I go to Austin (an AAA team) and check their roster. They have 25 players. I go through other teams (minors and majors) and see that every team is good with their amount of players. So why can't I sim? Help please! |

I just tried starting a new game with the same world template and it still does this. Actually, it plays the first day's gams and then it says Austin does not have enough players on the roster.

It sounds like you have this logged issue, from the Tech Support forum:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=148259 The suggested workarounds that I have read are as follows: You could click the Action button on the roster screen and choose either 'Ask AI to set up complete Team, Lineups, etc.' or 'Fill Team with fictional players.' You could try turning on ghost players, in League Setup, which in theory should allow minor league teams to play even if their rosters are incomplete. A more drastic measure would be to clear rosters for all teams in the AAA league, delete all free agents, and fill the rosters for those teams with newly generated players. I don't know the status of the logged issue, sorry. But at least you know you are not alone with it. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 07-12-2007 at 12:12 AM. |

Thanks, unfortunately I had already tried all three of those.

Then stay tuned to the Tech Support forum on that issue (there were a couple of other threads that I noticed on the same subject) and look for a mention of it as fixed in the next patch, hopefully.
BTW, a final thought; you said you used a template. Was that a downloaded mod? If so, maybe it's in the template, not the game. The reason that I say this is I thought I saw one person having the same problem in conjunction with the World of Baseball universal package. That maybe just circumstantial and coincidental evidence, but I have made plenty of fictional leagues and I have never seen that error except when I stupidly was not paying attention to one of my own teams. Anyway, good luck. Try starting over with a brand new league and avoid using that template is the only other thing I can suggest. |
