Game doesnt see stats for players before 1876
One thing i noticed that you can import players from 1871 but the game only seems to calculate ratings based on real life stats from 1876 and on. What i mean is that i can import Cap Anson from 1871 but he will suck because the game sees no stats from 1871 but if i import him from 1876 the game will put him as one of the best 3b in the league.
So would it be better to have players from 1871-1875 that played in 1876 to debut in 1876 thus losing players like Asa Brainard or move every players stats up to 1876? |

OOTP only recognizes the league ID"s of NL and AL, so you will get a similar problem if you impot players from the American Association, Union Association, Player's League, and Federal League too. 1871-1875 was the National Association (NA).
The fix is to edit all the files in the DB that use these abbreviations - NA, AA, UA, PL, FL - and change them all to NL. That way OOTp will think they are National League players. |

Cool that would be a lot easier.
I think that i might try and use some of your calculations for missing data. The game does such a great job with the recalc function, im not sure if a career database is needed as much as before but rather just estimating missing data. I really havent seen the game turn 1 year wonders into superstars. |
