[crash] in 2005 season
Hi,
I've been playing a historical league starting in 1998. I've also been creating fictional players for the annual draft every year, on top of importation of historical players. I just finished 2004 without encountering any problem, and backed up the game--the entire .lg folder--at the end of the year, i.e., Dec. 31, 2004 (I've been backing up my league at the end of every year). And after I made some off-season moves, such as roster changes and brining up a few of my minor league players, I went ahead simulating the 2005 season. But the game inevitably crashes in April, and the crash gets reproduced every time I try again with my backed-up files. I get a message like "ootp2007.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience..." Can you tell me how to fix it? or maybe i could ftp my data files for you to take a look at? by the way, my computer specs are: PC Dell Optiplex Pentium 4: 2.4Ghz Memory: 1 GB Windows XP, Service Pack 2 other info: FaceGen disabled the latest patch applied. if you need other info, please let me know. thanks a bunch for your help. m |

Instructions for FTPing your files are given in the link below:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=141258 Before we log this issue, however, could you tell us a little bit more about exactly when the crash occurs? Is it during the same day in April every time? Is it the start of the regular season? Is it when the first year player draft list is announced? |

actually, let me assess this problem a bit more.
i tried to reproduce the crash again to answer your question. this time i played up to the beginning of the spring training (because previously it was clear that the crash was occurring during the regular season in April), after which I backed-up my files. Then, I tried to simulate until the end of Dec 31, 2005, and no crash occurred. I used my backed up files to re-simulate the year again and again for about 4 times and no crash occurred. So, I guess at this point I no longer have the problem that I originally posted...well, I'm confused now. I don't know what to say, except that I'll test it out a bit more. right now, i'm trying to play month by month. i will let you know if I get a crash at some point. thanks |
