Best MLB April, and other records
I've got the Seattle Mariners off to a 16-1 start in one of my leagues, and I'm wondering what the MLB record is for win percentage/games won in April. Google is not very forthcoming, I'm mainly getting things about A-Roid's 2007 April.
Also, what site do you guys use to find some of the more obscure baseball records like this, or hit batsmen per game, or whatever. You guys can also feel free to use this thread to tell the world about the hottest starts you've seen in your playing. I'd love to read about that. |

I don't know any site off hand that gives an easy way to see month by month records. You can find them by team by year on baseball-reference.com. You have to click a year and go to a teams schedule page and it gives a month by month breakdown as well as various streaks etc.
I do know that the 84 Tigers that got off to a 39-7 start were 18-2 in April if that helps. |

I had a team that won every game in one month (I think it was June). They won 130 that year.

I've been comparing my team's progress to that of the 2001 Mariners (116 wins), and so far they are 3 games better. But I wouldn't know of any other teams that were off to hot starts or extremely successful like this.

My guess would be the '84 Tigers, who went 18-2 in April.
