Trading with Waiver's

On 8-1, the Chicago White Sox offered me a trade in which i accepted and then both players went on the waiver wire. One day before the players cleared waivers, the White Sox but a claim in for that player and i received an email saying the trade was canceled because one player did not clear waivers.

Maybe its just me, but i don't think the trading team should be able to make a waiver claim on the person they are trying to trade for.

That's actually how things work in real life- the team will claim the player on waivers so that no other team with lower waiver priority can prevent the trade by claiming the player. Of course, the teams will then go on to complete the deal, which, as you point out, doesn't happen in OOTP. So I think that's how things should work in OOTP- when a waiver deal is made, the only claims that should prevent the deal from happening should be those made by teams with higher waiver priority than the trading teams.

I agree that this is an issue. Did it happen when using version 2.0.2.53?

My big issue as wel, is that when a team puts a reasonably good prospect on waivers, other (AI) teams don't seem to really compete for the players.

This has been claimed fixed for the next patch. If after the release of the next patch, you find this not to be fixed, please post to that effect in Tech Support along with the above TT#. Thanks.

This issue has been regressed by the testers and sent back to the developers for further consideration.
