TBCB 2.5 News and updates

Dear boxing fans,

After many years of dedication to the boxing table top and computer gaming community, Jim and Tom Trunzo, the creators of Title Bout Championship Boxing and its predecessors, have offered me the complete rights to the game for purchase and I gladly accepted. Jim and Tom made a great job with designing this game, founding this community and accurately rating several thousand fighters. We truly owe them a debt of gratitude for their long-standing efforts!

Title Bout Championship Boxing version 3 is already in development now! The plan is to release it in 2007. I'm currently giving it a complete overhaul to get a strong basis for the role playing mode, which will be added to the game in this upcoming version. Role playing mode means that you can play the game as a manager. Set up contracts with boxers, manage their training, schedule fights and either try to earn as much money as possible or try to win the championship in one or more divisions. Or try to achieve both

When you start TB3, you can select to play either in the role playing mode or in the "open rules" mode where you can simulate single bouts or replay boxing history, just like you've done in TB2. So the open mode will allow you to continue your current boxing universes and you can start a role playing mode universe anytime! I will add some new features to this open mode, but the main effort will be to add the role playing game as a new, additional part of the game.

There will also be some important technical changes. Most of them are already done. I will revamp the skin, and had to make some important changes to the graphics library to implement some enhanced graphics features.
I will also take care of the problem with the database updates now. I've created an online database on our server, which holds all fighter data, biographies and the fighter ratings. With a single mouse click you can download new and updated data to your database, if you want to do this. It will merge into your database, i.e. it will update your fighter data without changing the record or the stats. The great thing with this feature is that a certain group of people gets a special access key which allows them to *upload* their fighter data and ratings from inside the game with a single mouse click! And this works already

While we are hopeful that both Jim and Tom may again one day rate fighters for the sim, nothing has been worked out in that regard. My intention at this juncture is to form a team of raters from our knowledgeable fan base here that will rate, test and upload files to the database noted above. This will be a vast improvement in terms of you being able to find the files that you are looking for but we cannot make a promise to provide anything resembling regular updates for fighter files at this time.

I'm very happy about the help which I'm getting from Chris (conn chris) and Mike (mh2365). During the last weeks both of them helped me with several difficult decisions. Chris and Mike are now part of the TB development team, and I'm looking forward to a productive future with them, with you and with the whole Title Bout community!

Title Bout steps into the ring again

This was an unexpected development (for me anyway). Congratulations on obtaining the full rights to this game.

I look forward to this new era in Title Bout computer gaming.

IMO the best part is Andreas is very involved in our community down here and I believe we will now get truthful and realistic updates.

Is it to early to say anything about the new features in open mode?

Other than the file updating noted by Andreas, everything is on the table. The current (hopefully growing) collection of ideas from our community is in the stickied thread down in the TBCB Feature suggestions / Wish list forum.

Congratulations Andreas!

Yes, it is, but there will definitely be a random fighter generator. Since I need it for the role playing mode anyway And I will add some features to the auto-scheduler. And probably dynamic groups, i.e. you can create groups as much as you want to. But that's not a promise

Congratulations on purchasing the rights to the game, Andreas. This is actually a monumetal breakthrough and should be able to bring the game to newer heights and bring updates and feature implimentation to a reality. This is best news i've heard in a long time.

I reallly think sabotai was onto something here (which is for the RPG, but would help open mode also)

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...&postcount=116

Another big fix for the open mode which will be used in the RPG would be the ability to track career earnings. Of course the purses for older fights/fight venues would have to be fixed so they are earning more than $100

I'd like to see more stats also. Like I've been saying for a while ... I want to be able to click the # for "times knocked down" and it generate a list of who knocked the fighter down. It'd be nice to be able to do that for each round too. That's kind of out there though

I noticed that you and Chris were the only moderators of the forum and the Trunzos were no listed but I never put two and two together. No wonder why you got a little annoyed when people doubted it

You are just passionate about the game and sometimes that bubbles over but most people down here in the basement understand that and for the most part you have been behaving yourself LOL. This development should quiet most if not all the critics.
