Gambo vs Lehman
I just played my first historical season and have learned that I made a few mistakes in setting up the game how I like it, so I need to start from scratch.
I'd like to hear any opinions out there on which roster set to use (Gambo, Lehman, or other). In my situation, I want to start in the 1977 season with historical players and move forward. Ideally I want the amatuer draft to be real amateurs (either fictional or non-fictional) that need typical development in the minors. I also want to be able to scout countries and find new talent (likely fictional), as well as be able to manage my minors with an influx of young players. (likely fictional). Any thoughts? |

Rebuttal
In looking at the Gambo database, It appears that it will "import" the real players (based on their professional debut) in the succeeding years after I create the historical league.
By "import" does that mean they will automatically be added to my team? (i.e: I will be given all of the cubs' draft picks in 1978). I would prefer to have these players be in the amatuer draft, so I can select from a pool of these players instead of being automatically assigned them, so I dont make the same mistakes the Cubs did. |

If you want to be able to scout other countries, you'll need to enable 'Create and maintain Hidden Players' when you set up the league. You can only do this when you initially create the league, unfortunately. The players you find in other countries, in this case, will be fictional players, so be sure you don't mind having a few fictional international signees mixed in with your historical players. Players who, in real life, were international signs will end up in your draft regardless of which database you use.
