P L A G U E !!! Inaugural Hall of Fame Class - Who will be the 1st 5 Pitchers?
As noted in the Inaugural Batters HOF Poll, the Hall of Fame will be opening in 1939. The initial class will contain 5 batters and 5 pitchers. Here are the pitching candidates, in my opinion, a much tougher choice. Vote for as many as you like

yeah, he's a no-brainer. There were some controversial omission in the initial class IRL anyway.
In my yearly recaps, I actually had Tempkin go on to a career in the movies as Tarzan since I killed off Johnny Weismuller

The 5 pitchers in the inaugural class will be:
WALTER JOHNSON CHRISTY MATHEWSON GEORGE MERRITT SMOKEY JOE WOOD BERNIE DUFFY Just missing the cut by one vote were ROY HITT and JOSE MENDEZ, who are sure to get a lot of support in future classes.....and next time I won't forget JOSEPH TEMPKIN Last edited by metsgeek; 06-09-2007 at 08:47 AM. |
