Boxing writers needed.
Okay guys i have been putting together the basics of a boxing website. It is still in it infancy but i would need people interested in writing articles. Initially this will be pro bono work but could blossom into more. Let me know if you might be interested in writing articles and an idea of where your expertise in the boxing arena lies (ie... heavyweights, european boxing scene, womens boxing etc) and how often you think you could commit to doing an article. I know i am not giving a whole of info now but i am working on some of the behind the scenes things and wanted to be sure there would be competent writers to fill the article need. Thanks in advance.

Sure, I've written for ringtalk in the past. As for my area of expertise, I guess its more about boxing history and old time fighters rather than current stuff. I'm also a trainer so anything technique or training related I can cover as well. I can send u some of my writing samples if u want. Send me a PM if ur interested in having me on board. I can probably do one article every two weeks. Just lemme know what u have in mind.

I'd be happy to do a write up of fights I watch. I could probably do a recap every Monday of the fights I watched over the weekend. Of course remember that when I express my opinions it tends to make people come out of the wordwork to insult my wife

As long as they come out of the wood work and insult someone (lets leave your wife alone) that is what we want.

Thanks for the response guys. I think all of the niches mentioned would definitely be valuable. I won't ask for any samples etc until we are closer to launching. It is going to take me a little bit of time to get everything together but i wanted to be sure there was some interest in writing atricles from the more knowledgable boxing people here. While i love the sport my level of knowledge is lacking a bit. I working on getting some things behind the scenes worked out. Be patient with me since i want to be sure we do this right i will give you guys updates as time goes by. I am trying to work out some affiliate relationships to help make the site pay for itself.

I could analyze upcoming fights - like I did for Oscar vs. Floyd.
Admittedly, I was all wrong but it was still analysis so that's something. |

If you have forums I would ban sh** talking from them. For me that's what ruins some sites completely (boxingtalk) and forums of others (maxboxing)

I think this is a great place to recruit boxing writers. There is obviously alot of objective, knowledgeable boxing fans on this board and that is why I go on this forum instead of the others. Occasionally we have the odd person (Tyson fan?) who doesn't know what he's talking about but that is very rare on this board. Now whether we can write good articles maybe another question LOL but I think it would be cool.

Who cares if the articles are good as long as people keep coming back to read them.
