Another Un-retire player problem

When unretiring an retired player, all previous stats will automatically duplicate itself, for example, if he has 20 wins with Boston in 1998, after u click unretire, the stats of that year will be doubled and shown like he's been playing for two teams (BOS 20 wins + BOS 20 wins, Total 40 wins)....

and I just updated the lastest patch...

This problem has been confirmed and logged as a bug (TT #3614).

I think there's a workaround in the short term: After you unretire the player, go to the free agents screen and import the same individual from your database. Then delete the individual you unretired.

Does this really work? If so can you post step by step instructions for how to do it?
