What exactly can you do when you export a roster?
Cause long story short, I want to create a new league but keep the players I already have.
This is because I noticed I didn't like the playoff system (only 6 teams make it in a 30+ team league) and I realized I can't change the playoff settings in the options menu. So basically, would I be able to make a different league and import the rosters? Or am I just wasting time? |

Note: You would want to Release All Players first to remove any players generated when you set up the new league, then go to the Free Agents page and Delete All Free Agents (you need to be the commissioner for that last part). Then import your old rosters. Important: the team arrangement in your new league must be in exactly the same order, and the same amount of teams, of course. This is because each player in the roster file is assigned to team 1, 2, etc. Left behind will be their stats and their player histories (both of which I don't think you wanted anyway). You could experiment with exporting the stats, moving those files, and importing them in the new game, and with copying all the player history text files from the old \news\txt\players folder to the same location in the new saved game folder, but that would be a bit tricky. On the number of teams issue, the schedule is supposed to limit you to powers of two (2,4,8,16, etc.) teams making the playoffs. The other limitation is that any one subleague cannot have more than two or fewer than one team(s) times the number of divisions qualify. That means that if you have three divisions per subleague you must have four teams per subleague make the playoffs. That would be three to six, and four is the only power of two in that range. If you had two divisions per subleague you could have either two or four teams per subleague make the playoffs, but the default number would be two, so you'd have to manually select 'allow wildcards' to get the four. Six teams making the playoffs just isn't possible. Either this is a bug and should be reported in the Tech Support section of the forum, or you aren't understanding something. Sorry. |
