I would like to start a mew game and load up MLB history to 2006 (awards, records, championships, etc.). How do I do this? Where doI start? Do I use Lahman or Ankit Gambo database.
Thanks!

I think this has been noted as a possible issue that has been logged and claimed to be fixed, but still causing problems for some people. I know that on my computer, there seems to be an issue with importing speed right around 1977. Anything before that year, and it can take a little while, but not too bad. 1977 or later, and it's hours. Last time I tried, it took about 12 hours to start a 1977 career, but about 15-20 minutes to start a 1969 career.
You might want to check the tech forum. |

The key is memory in the computer. The more, the better it will work. What happens is if the computer runs out of memory it starts to do a virtual swap to the hard drive and that will start slowing it down big time.
Before you start it, reboot the computer so you have a fresh boot. Then disable everything that you can from memory, freeing up as much as possible. Make sure your screen saver is disabled, turn off virus software, spyware software and other programs that are running in the background. Once it is done importing, exit and then reboot to restore your system to it's normal self again.

I'm having the same problem with my trial version. My specs are similar. I've tried several times to load a league to no avail. I'll let it sit for as long as 30 minutes. Once I got to 3%, but three other tries have only went to 1%. this bums me out because I really wanted to want this game but if I can't do historical leagues it's useless to me.
