historical download for Mac 10.4???
i just bought game and cannot download historical league data.
User manual says this must be done from "third party." How do you find this "third party?" why so mysterious? why isn't historical data available when you purchase game for $35???? Note: I have Mac version & I did find Lahman database but only for PC. Thanks for any & all help. |

Henry, there are several reasons why real MLB rosters are not included with OOTP 2007. They come under two headings: Legal and Financial.
Talented modders are always at work. You can download their real rosters from these mod sites: http://ootpmodsquad.com/ http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/iWeb/OOTPMods/Main.html The Lahman Database, which contains real players and history from 1871 through 2006, can be found at: http://www.baseball1.com/ You said that you already have Lahman; I was unaware that they made PC and Mac versions. After all, the files are available in comma-deliminated versions, which should be generic. However, I may be uninformed so you should go back to that site to see if there is a difference and a Mac version is available. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 05-06-2007 at 09:26 PM. |

dola,
Sports Mogul bills themselves as the "exclusive licensee" of the Lahman database, which basically means that they are the only company that can legally include it with their product. Lahman's documentation, also, forbids redistribution without permission. Combine the two, and that's the legal reason why it doesn't come with OOTP. Besides, the database is free and easy to obtain individually. |
