Is my solo league dead?

I'm afraid I already know the answer to this, but I thought I'd post anyway. I've been running a solo league for about 8 seasons and converted it to 2007 when the game was released. I was rolling along with no problems until a couple of weeks ago. A few player pictures were suddenly misaligned. Instead of the player's face, you'd see maybe a tip of their cap or a bit of shoulder and a whole lot of background. That was easy enough to fix.

Yesterday, I fired the league up, and it looks like all hell broke loose. For no apparent reason, half my e-mails are blank, the scores and schedule page shows a bunch of J. Unknowns pitching today, half of the player pictures are missing, none of the player links go to the right player, and whenever I click on any icon on the bottom of the page, the whole program just crashes.

I have no idea what would cause so many things to go wrong, especially as I haven't been messing with any of the league files. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Am I about to severely regret not backing the league up? Any help anyone could give would be much appreciated.

Whoa. Uh, I think that the normal response to this is to try deleting your faces.dat file (don't really delete it, but move it out of its directory for a moment) and try running the league again.

I tried it, and it didn't fix any of the J. Unknowns, and it didn't keep the game from crashing when I tried to access my team's transactions screen.

Uh-oh.

I think I've just been given a harsh reminder to back up my league on a regular basis.

Can you upload your files so that we can have Markus take a look? There's a sticky at the top of the Tech Support page. Let me know when you've done so and tell me the file name, and I'll give it a TT. Maybe there's something that can be done.
