Dark Cloud 2007 Roster Set (Beta)

I've created a work-in-progress, alpha/beta/gamma, roster set today. I know there are people missing. I know it's not perfect, but...it's serviceable.

I only created one level of minors, figuring you could add as many as you wanted. Most teams should be current as opening day, though there are some gaps there, I know it. That's why it's a beta, I'll likely update it -- provided the rancor isn't so furious so as to not make it worthwhile -- and make the requisite changes as necessary.

I mostly wanted to put it out there and have people dive in and see what was wrong, so it could be fixed and be out of the way.

As far as prospects, there are quite a few in there. I also added a random amount, using this and other sources (boy, there are all sorts of random sites just with prospect data..)

I know the numbers might be off. Deal.

You can download it here, for now, anyway.

Unzip the folder and place it in your C:\Documents and Settings\whateveryoursiscalled\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games folder. At least, that should be where it goes.

Like I said..it's a work in progress. But in my mind, that's a whole lot better than nothing.

This is really good news, thanks for this roster set darkcloud! I don't care how unfinished or beta it is, it's a real world roster set for OOTP2007.

I don't really have time to check them out tonight (I promise to do it tomorrow though) but a question: if we find changes that we think should be made (e.g. players on the wrong team or such things), would you like us to just post what we think should be changed in this thread?

Yeah, that would be super helpful. I don't really want to quibble about ratings, really.

I mean, more logistical stuff like "these players on this team are missing." or heaven forbid, "xyz is on the wrong team."

Stuff like that.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on posting any ratings quibblings. If I find a player whose ratings I disagree with I just change them, it's not like it's hard to do. No need to bring ratings arguments into a thread like this because they can get to be long, heated, and not very constructive.

I've already found some missing players, so I'll fix it them and when I update the file, I'll post.

Just downloaded these...cool stuff dude. It's a relief to finally see something out there.

One thing i have noticed though is none of the 2006 stats are correct for the players. I am not sure if this is something you edited yourself or how that goes...just wanted to let you know

thanks again

did a quick sim of a season, got interesting results.

I dont have time to go in detail.

Griffey JR. was amazing (.334 and 41 HR's) and so was Hawpe from colorado.

how teams did was interesting as well

terrible years from detroit, LA...good years from pittsburgh, colorado, and oakland

Colorado won the world series

just did a quick look at league totals.

seem to be ok, league BA was a bit high (.271).

League ERA was about 4.23

The main issues with the past year's stats are mostly because of how I imported this when I started tweaking.

So I can't do much about the past stats, so I'm gonna see what sort of workaround I can conceive.

I told you all it wasn't perfect.

Prospects probably had something to do with it, spikes on teams with lots of them or something. Who knows.

I did a bit of tinkering to try to get better numbers. I know that few of you will try to do this, because people like something more exact or whatever, but it worked pretty nicely as a work around for the time being. Because I know I'm not going to through and editing databases to get different career stats for players.

I used one of those imported schedules and I aligned both leagues with 5 teams in each division, moved the Royals to the AL West, the Brewers back to the AL Central, the Blue Jays from the East to the Central and Detroit Tigers to AL East.

Ratings Weight: 70%
Current Year Stats: 30%

Here are the stats from my Top 20 hitters and pitchers. Peavy and Santana got hurt early in the year, apparently.

how teams did was interesting as well

terrible years from detroit, LA...good years from pittsburgh, colorado, and oakland

Colorado won the world series
I just quick simmed myself and got some decent results. Ended up being Boston vs NYM in the world series. League BA was a little high for me as well around .272. I think i figured out why though..check your walks. I didn't have anybody walk 100 times. It seems like they are trying balance out the number of runners on base with more hits maybe. I think this could easily be fixed with a bit of tweaking the league totals. That's just something we all have our own preference on though..definetly not something darkcloud should be worried about.
