Newbie Questions

I downloaded this last night and it seems pretty impressive so far. The game is very big. I would like some suggestions.

What is a fun way to play? League type? How do I get historical databases?

also

Are there any mods for OOTP 2007 that I should download to make the game better?

Hope those made sense, any help would be amazing! Thanks guys.

www.baseball1.com. You'll want the comma-delimited (CSV) version of the database. There are also a couple of modified versions which you can find in the mods forum.
