Question A Day Without Home Runs?

This has had to have happened before where at some point during the regular season that (nearly) all teams had a game and there wasn't a single homerun. So, has it ever happened?

I wouldn't be surprised if there were points in major league history where a week of games went by without a tater.

How about in the modern era (1980+)?

I was thinking about this the other day and I set out to find an answer
I wanted modern era 1980+ with at least 8 games played on the day

I have spent some free time at work looking for an answer and have made it up to 1983 so far with no results.
There is not a very good way to search that I have found so its a very slow process

I'm not gona do it, but it's very easy to go through a year by using retrosheets gamelogs and pivot tables in excel.

just set the date-column as rowfields (or whatever it's called in english), and the homeruns columns as data elements and you'll se how many homeruns was made each day.

I tried with the 2006 data, and the closest was 8 homeruns on a day with 6 games, and 11 homeruns on a day with 8 games.

This was almost as disastrous as the day without Mexicans.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!
