3 year recalc questions

Okay I didn't play 2006 and barely played 6.5 so I guess I can post here in new to the game.

Running a historical dynasty I am assuming the 3 year recalc is based off their real life stats, which would explain why players are performing like real life. Is this correct?

So if I traded for someone who didn't have good rating now but I knew was a good ball player in the future will he turn into a good player because of the recalc?

How does the recalc work going ahead into the future? Does it recalc in 2010 based on 2007, 2008, and 2009 stats in the game?

I'm confused on the whole recalc issue.

1) This is correct.

2) He likely will. This game doesn't force results, just sets up likliehoods. It will give him the ratings that, on average, would result in his becoming that good player. Note that if he was basically an average player who had one career year, you're likely to be disappointed.

3) I don't know, and I'm interested in finding out.

I believe it would recalc 2010 based on real life 2009, 2010 & 2011 stats.

Its kind of a catch-22 thing with the 3 yr recalc. It gives you the best results as far as historical accuracy, but, the guys that fall off the table you know to stay away from, which makes things a little predictable.

Wonder what kind of results you would get if you ran a historical league with 3 year recalc, but didn't use the historic league total modifiers.

So with recalc on .. then players like Mark Fydrich wouldn't have a long and great career, they basically would do what they do in real life. I wonder how 3 year recalc works with the war years some players (like Williams) had.

Basically it extrapolates across the gap.
