This Error just came up in my Online League

One of my GMs posted this

I am completely new at this, the game, online, everything. I just tried to upload my file from the daily management window where it says "export team via FTP" under Online League Functions. When I do this I get a message that says "Could not upload file. Error -201 Connect Error"
I dont recognize that error number

Been a while since I've "onlined" .. but I'd guess he doesn't have his export/import info correct.

Hmm. yeah, that's true. A connect error ? ... Possible ... firewall ... the server was down when he tried ... I assume he was online .... hmm, just tossin' stuff out there.

I am the GM in question here. I tried shutting off my Norton Security for a bit, and instead of getting Error 201 Connect Error, I got Error 202 Upload Error.

Not sure if that helps at all.

It doesn't unfortunately: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=128466

Do you have a firewall? That could be blocking it. What happens when you try to export? Does it get stuck at 50%?

I got it to work by disabling my Norton Security. The first time I tried doing this I got the error mentioned above "202 Upload Error", and yes it did get stuck at 50% for some time.

About an hour later I tried it again with my security disabled and it worked, which doesn't make much sense since it didn't the first time but I'll take it.

I'll post back if I have problems the next time.

I don't have Norton but I wonder if there is a way to allow certain programs access or to direct Norton to ignore certain programs when they try to access the internet, etc? My guess is there should be something like this that can maybe allow you to keep Norton enabled and get OOTP exports to work at the same time. Let us know if you find something that works.

The other option is to dump Norton and get something else that is free and just as good like AVG + a firewall like Sygate.

A few years back I had Norton and had to do just that to get some games to work (for UDP protocol, not FTP, but I'm sure there's settings for both).
