I cannot believe this, but I need help

I'm just so frustrated right now and I think that's why I can't figure this out. But at this point I'm about to tear my hair out and I just want to PLAY!! This is the league I want to create:

- MLB with all pertinent minor league levels
- have all MLB and minors with the correct team names and affiliations
- have all teams with correct logos and facepacks
- start out MLB rosters with correct 2006 rosters from Gambo DB

Here is what I have downloaded:

- Gambo's database
- Icy's large pack from the mod site which includes levels
- All of Gambo's facepacks
- Icy's WTP which gives all the MLB/Minor levels that I want

I keep trying to create a world which contains all the properly named teams PLUS having the 2006 rosters to start and I just can't freaking do it. And at this point like I said my eyes are starting to hurt and I'm just frustrated. Can someone PLEASE give me a hand with this in guiding me in the right direction? I've looked through the manual a little bit, but I think I looked at the manual too late and now I just want it done! If anyone could just guide me in the right direction, I would appreciate it so much. Thanks!

hello

I'm not at home right now so don't have the game right in front of me.... and I'm new also.

However it sounds like the 'simple' answer is to start a new historical game.. and start it from 2006.. so you'd be starting with the real players and teams from last year.

There is not a roster pack out with this year's teams on it yet... so that's the best you could do right now.. and since you said you wanted to start with the 2006 team's.. that would fix it.

All you do is select to start a 'historical' game... then point the database towards the 'master.csv' file that you downloaded from Lahman's.. and select the start year as 2006.

And away you go... or at least it should be that simple.

just to add something type in Lehman database as a google search and download 5.4 w/ (like Rbartlett did a nice job of explaining) the master.csv file it should give you a link right to it www.baseball1.com I think. I've heard Gambo's are a little bit more accurate but Ive never actually used it. Good Luck!

thanks

thanks jbergey.. I missed that he hadn't downloaded that.

for some reason thought I saw that he did.

Yes, that's obviously the first place to start to get the historical rosters.

I don't know anything about Gambos database, so I'm lost there .. but, this may be helpful.

Here is a great tutorial on how to combine Icys stuff with 2007 rosters. I imagine you could download 2006 rosters and follow the instructions just the same.

A 2006 roster ...

(Cubby fans opening day 2006)

I haven't seen them myself, but Cubbys claim to have MLB & AAA. Rolens has no further description.
