if this a bug? manager options issue
I am playing a historical league in Commish mode and set the AI to take care of everything except transactions and trades (for both the ML and minors). But I noticed the AI was releasing some of my players during the current off season.
When I checked the manager options, the minor league transactions section is inaccessible, and looks to be locked on AI controlled. Here's a screen shot. Anyone seen this before?

Turn off commissioner mode. Then change the settings.

I've tried that (and a bunch of other things), but it doesn't work. I went through the entire season and still can't access it. I'm zipping up my season now, and will add a link in a few minutes, if anyone wants to take a look at it.

Ok, after some more tinkering I was able to get access back by changing all options to human, then clicking take vacation, then return from vacation.
I spoke too soon, after exiting and returning to the game, it is now dimmed again and set to the AI. Anyone know if this is a logged bug or not? It looks like, every time I set "Roster Moves" to the AI, the "Minor League Transactions" tab automatically get set to AI and is disabled. Anyone know why this would happen? Or at least that was how it worked when minor league transactions and minor league lineups/depth charts/pitching were the same thing. Last edited by Nutlaw; 04-03-2007 at 07:01 PM. |

Yeah, if you don't couple these two settings, then the AI runs into big trouble when its rosters become bloated, especially when minor league roster limits are in place. It can't properly promote and demote players if it isn't allowed to release players because that might violate roster limits. Even if it doesn't violate roster limits, it would result in unmanageable minor league team sizes.
