Gauging Interest.....
Looking to start a league - It will have some very specfic "quirks". I am posting this to see if I get any takers.....
I will be honest, I have tried to get some leagues off the ground in the past. I had good sites, Well thought out graphics and constitutions and so forth. I would usually fill up the league rather quickly but would have managers drop out just as quickly.
That being said, This is what I am looking for from you... And what you will get from me..

1.) I am looking for managers that are interested in Baseball History as a whole. Most people have very little interest in "Historic" leagues as a lot of players are unknown and people like players they have heard of and can relate to.

2.) Managers that have time for this... Fantasy leagues take some time commitment (regardless of which you play) I don't require a lot just a couple hours a week

3.) Managers that are active with their teams (again not a lot of time) just response to offers, etc.

What I will offer
1.) I will put together a great looking site and board (all on my server no banner ads)
2.) I will take responsibility for all league runnings so no one else has to be bothered with the day to day stuff
3.) Reliable sim schedule

Now about the league.....
It will be run using OOTP 2007
It is starting in 1871
It will use "real" players and always use real players
It will always use some form of "real teams
I will not require owning the game - thought it would be helpful
The league will run with full coaching and ratings
The league WILL have NO financials the first few seasons - Financials will be turned on later
The first season 1871 will hold an inagural draft so teams can get their teams from day 1 (no assigned players)
The league will start with 8 teams in 2 divisions (4 per) and will go with expansions as we go the first being in 1882 (we will go to 16 teams by adding 4 per division)

The first season will be 32 games. 1872 will jump to 60 and stay there until 1875 at which time I will go to 82 games (this is somewhat loosley following what really happened in these early years).
Though all-star games and world series did not come around until WAYYYYYY laterI will be having them as it gives managers something to play for every season (this is not historical, but one of the quirks I spoke of)
This is the basic background for the league format... I will fill in the rest prior to the start and I am open for suggested "features"...
I will have 7 teams open to start -
Brooklyn Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Giants
chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers - A's will be taken

If I can get enough takers, I will have it up in one weeks time..

Except for small quirks like World Series and All-Star games, will you be striving for accuracy such as league totals, number of games, etc? If so, I would be interested in Brooklyn. OOTP2007 has convinced me to get back into leagues.

Well accuracy as far the numbers will be in line with what would be expected at the time... The HR leader may have 2 possibly 3 dingers, that sort of thing....

My striving for accuracy is really not "re-play" it will unfold as it does - But the numbers will coincide with what would seem reasonable

The balance will be off a list, So start compiling lists - Bear in mind names that are not "real" will be removed tonight and the list re-uploaded - I will also load the league file up tonight

It will be your draft choices - after round 2 I will pick from submitted lists (to move the process along) so it is a list in preferred order of draft choices after round 2 - The league pages are up (see link on site, top left corner)..

Bear in mind names will be removed from the list, Lahmann, Desai, etc.. that are not "real" ball players leaving only real ones - This will be done and re-loaded this evening
