when does the game use the nations.txt file?

I know in the manual it says when a new game is created, but does that apply to when you use a template as well? I cranked up the US to be 90% American, but still see more than 10% foreign players when I started the game. Granted, this was from a 2006 template so hence my question. thx

I think all the templates use the original nations, names, and ethnicities files that they were generated and not the ones on your computer.

well that would explain it

Makes sense. Sure appears that way from my handful of tests. Thanks sir. I guess if I want it to be "right", I'll have to start from scratch. Guess what I'm doing this weekend???

There's a button on one of the League Setup screen to re-load ethnicities, etc.

This button reloads the names (first and last), nicknames and ethinicities .txt files. The nations.txt does not get reloaded, but can be edited with the nation editor.

so if I edit the nations file after I start the game, does that alter player creations going forward?

Tried it, released and deleted all the major leaguers (YOU CAN'T GET RID OF MINOR LEAGUERS, I have no idea why, you can release them but not delete them), and it doesn't work on a template league. You still get the nations, ethnicities, and name files that the template was made with.

I am seeing this as well. I have spent easily 12 hours now trying with to seperate mods to import a new ethincities and nations into quikstarts with no luck. Is nayone sure the option feature in game in game setup in league setup where you can reimport the nations and ethinicities file really works. When I have used it nothing changes at all? Is there any way to add my on set of ethnicities file and nations in game?
