"Old" Rolen17 Roster

I'm tired of waiting for the wondrous "Real World" roster (no judgement intended; just tired of waiting), so I want to use some other roster set, even if it's not perfectly up-to-date.

There is a "MLB 2007 Opening Day " roster set at oopmodsquad (dated 10/06).
Can someone tell me:

1. Is this majors only or also minors
2. Will it work on ootp2007 (I assume so)?
3. Is there something better out there? (I just want to get started and like to use real rosters at the start since it smooths the learning curve)

1. Both
2. They are for 2k6, but the import function works well.
3. IMO, no. Rolen's set(s) have always been the most complete/accurate.

There is no world.dat file in the so how do you open or import?

I tried the same thing, couldn't figure it out. Looks like OOTP is leaning towards more historical/fictional leagues than anything.

Hopefully someone tech-literate can clear this up for me/us. I was going to download something this evening after work. Have no idea what a .dat file is or where it goes. Don't want to end up throwing things when nothing works. (Scares the children and dogs)

Normally 2006 roster files import nicely into 2007. For some reason that file of Rolen's does not have a world.dat file in it. Not sure.

Are there any of the older ones that do work? I'd be happy with as up to date as end of last year. I tried the Rolen roster but it didn't work.
