				1901 Historical Template Now Available!

Hi guys! I have put together a 1901 historical template which you can download from PadresFan's website at: http://www.padresfanmods.net/ The file contains my preferred settings for running a full length (1901-2006) historical sim. While Lahman database isn't required, that's what the template is based on. Please download it and give it a try. I have included a readme also, which should walk you through importing it into your game. Will

dola, This file gives you exceptional results. In most of my tests with it the quality of the leaderboards mirrored MLB's career leaderboards. For example, IRL there are 20 guys with 500+ HR in real life. In my last sim with these settings I had 21 over the same 105 year period. That's just one example, other categories show similar results. Will

This sure looks like a great tool, but the loading instructions are incomplete. You lose me at the point 4.0 where you tell me where to get Lahmans, but then what? I can load the template within the game, but I don't know where to tell it the path for Lahmans. I already have Lahmans, per the sticky post above and I know it works, but that requires you to use the 'create historical league' wizard, but you said to close out of that first thing. If I click 'start game' the game tells me I have no players and when I tried something that said "import rosters" I was forced to reboot.

The template is already set up to import from lahman unless your lahman is located at something other than c:/lahman. If so: 1. Go into Game Setup on the Game Menu 2. Click on League Setup Tab 3. Click on Rules Tab 4. About halfway down, you can set your path to lahman. In any case, you can always press F1 for in game help which should provide you with more details about whatever screen you are on. I hope I've helped... Will

Is this based on recalc mode? How is Ruth handled?

Yes. This is based on 3 year recalc mode. Ruth converts to a fielder in 1919 or 1920 as he did IRL. Will

Bah! I must be in the minority, but recalc is completely unappealing to me.

I'm going to try this out now. The only change I made to your settings was to disable free agency.

Just take a look at the league settings and see what the league draft date is. You can adjust it yourself if needed. I suggest Nov. 1.

I noticed in this template that the amateur draft is not enabled. Do we enable this later on at a certain year? I was going to change the draft date to Nov 1st, but it's not enabled by default. I'm guessing the draft started in a certain year? If so, do we change stuff like this on our own or does the game do this automatically? Thanks, Todd Last edited by MizzouRah; 03-28-2007 at 09:46 PM. |

Going to have to give this a try. Just curious - what happens to AAA when the MLB expands? Does it match it? |
