2994 - minor leage lineups/depth charts and rotation won't stick

Here is teh back ground: I started a completely fictional league based on the Major American League... and started the game with no job.

Took a job as manager of a single A team.

I have the strategy settings set to take pitching rotation and line-up information from me, the manager.

I sim up to spring training / opening day of the Majors so that my major league team drafts and gives me some players, and I then ask my coach to set the initial line-ups and rotation.

After I make changes to the line-ups and rotation I sim a week at a time.

However I can't even sim one day without my line-ups and rotation getting changed to whatever the bench coach (or some other Game AI) thinks it should be.

Even when there are no personell changes from the major league, every game my pitching rotation gets reset... and pretty much at any time my line-ups and depth charts can be reset.

How do I lock the AI out of my minor league rotation and line up decisions for the team I am managing?

As a side note, one particular annoyance was the fact that the AI repeatedly removed my star 2nd baseman from every line-up even though he was the best player on the team and the scouting system reported him as the organizations #1 prospect.

Interesting choice to sit him out every game.

Have you checked the box on your team's Homepage > Options and Ballpark that says "Prevent any AI roster changes"?

The computer will obey your depth chart (starting subs for tired starters / every xth game / etc) if you don't.

I just tested it and you are right, the AI is doing deep chart and pitching order moves in the minor team that you are managing as GM.

I have just registered the issue in the Test Tracker tool, the TT number is #2994

I'm pretty sure it worked fine in the past, but in the latest beta builds Markus added some new options to the AI managing the minors and probably it was then when this bug was introduced (just guessing).

That option is not available when you are the minors GM, it only appears if you are the majors GM.

Unhappy Lineups/Rotations Resetting

Hello,

Is anybody else having the problem where your lineups and pitching assignments reset after each weekly sim? The only setting in the game that I can see that would effect this problem is the Settling Lineups/Depth/Pitching Staff under the Team Control Settings on the Manager Options page. I have this set to myself and not Manager (Computer AI).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jason

I can only assume you mean have I pressed the "Go on Vacation" button at the bottom of the Manager Home screen. The answer to that is no.

Did you set the 7-day lineups and choose the option allowing them to clear after use? There is a setting that allows these lineups to "stick" if you want them.

Seven-day lineups can be found on the same links at the top of the lineup and depth chart menu.

By the way, I am using the free trial. Could that be the why I am seeing this problem? Or is the game identical expect for the 6-month in game limit & 14-day real-time limit?

Jason,

I've got the same problem

I'm running the full game, have set lineups/rotations to myself, am not on vacation, and not using 7 day line-ups (in any event - settings are set not to stick to 7 day lineups and to use the regular lineups)

right now i'm playing as a minor league manager - don't know if this also happens in the major leagues

don't know why this happens.

Same problem here too. As a Single A Manager. It is changing them back after promotions and/or demotions.

according to Markus.

He said this in another forum.

Sorry, but all works properly here. Make sure your manager options are set so you control all aspects of the minors.

What option is there other than the "Setting Lineups/Depth/Pitching Staff" under Team Control Settings on the Manager Options page?

I have that setting as myself; please let me know what else needs to be changed to allow me to set my lineups and not have the AI change them.
