3149 - Historical setup problem
I am getting this error when trying to set up a new historical league. I followed the post on how to create one in the historical forum.
It gets to 25% loaded and it just closes, slowly from top to bottom. Then I get the error. Brand new league. No adjustments made in the wizard.

Did you follow these steps?
The process for adding historical leagues is a little different. If you want to play an OOTPB league with real players from the past, you must first obtain a third-party historical database file. OOTPB has no affiliation with any third-party historical database makers. If you’re unclear on the definition of Historical Leagues , see Section 3.2.2.2. To create a historical league in Advanced Mode, follow these steps: 1. Download a third-party historical database and follow any instructions for installing the file(s). Typically, these databases consist of many comma-separated files, with one called “master.csv.” The third-party database should be stored in a separate directory from OOTPB. 2. Start up OOTPB and select the New Game button on the main page. 3. Click on Advanced Mode to drop out of the League Creation Wizard. 4. Click on the Add Historical Major League button on the left side of the Create New Game page. 5. You will see a file browser window. Navigate to the directory where the master.csv file for your historical database is stored. OOTPB will highlight the file for you. 6. Select the master.csv file and click on Confirm.

If you're selecting the master.csv and then it's failing when importing from the database, it's possible that you could have a corrupted lahmans db. This is something that a lot of people tested in the beta and there were no problems doing it. So try downloading the lahman db again and let us know if that works.

This is interesting to note: the error is being thrown by anotify.exe, which is an AOL program.
Do you use AIM or, even worse, Triton? Could you try shutting down and unloading it from the system tray, and then trying again? |

baseball77,
Again, I'm concerned that there's something else going on here, some sort of conflict. Did you see my earlier post about AOL/AIM/Triton? |

Quote:
1. In your Control Panel, open the System control panel applet. 2. Click the Advanced tab 3. Under Performance, click Settings. 4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab. 5. Change the Data Execution Prevention ("DEP") setting to "turn on DEP for essential sevices only" 6. OK out of the control panel and try again. |

Alright, how about trying to get us a log file using trace mode?
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar....php?p=2115657 We'll get this figured out eventually.

it goes from 0% then 12%(after 30-40 secs), then to 25%(same amount of time), no in between %'s. then it shuts down.
i ran a couple of test leagues to get a feel for the game and then went to the historical setup wizard and now this.

Well, if it's small you could attach it here as a zip. If it's not, you could e-mail it to me at steve.battisti @ ootpdevelopments.com.
(If you e-mail it, it would help my sanity if you included a link to this thread so I don't have trouble associating your e-mail address with a tech support thread!) |
