I don't know about your league, but my league has been hit recently with league wide spam e-mails from other league commissioners to "join up".
Let me insert something here: I have no problem with my owners being involved with multiple leagues, if it doesn't result in reduced participation in my league. Most of my owners are in multiple leagues. Now, these e-mails were sent to my owners by spamming my owners page list. The "upstanding" commissioners in question NEVER contacted me to get approval to contact my owners. (It's the fact they spammed the entire league that chaps me. If it was one or two that they knew or had been referred to...that's one thing; hitting EVERYONE is something else. I've busted butt to find my owners...find your own.) In both cases I replied to the offending sender, expressing my displeasure. Here's a copy of the "reply" the most recent one sent me... "I dont see what the big problem is. I'm not trying to get them to quit your league, it's totally the opposite. I thought that between comishes we could help each other. But nevermind!" Now, he never contacted me...I have no idea how spamming and trying to raid my owners "helps" me and no offer of mutual help was ever discussed. Then he gets defensive and immature. Maybe I'm blowing this way out of proportion....geez even I've e-mailed an entire league before, looking for owners...oh wait... I had the courtesy to contact the commissioner and get his OK before I sent my e-mail. Anyway, I don't see why a little courtesy could not be used by other commissioners...use some common sense guys.

You aren't alone...our league got hit too. Probably the same guy.
I hope next time he'll remember that owners' page that's on every league website is put up there for league communication purposes, not as an invitation for unsolicited e-mail (even if it is OOTP related).

A commish that would send out 'bulk mail' invites isn't the kind of commish that most serious owners would want to be saddled with. I certainly wouldn't be interested in joining a league with that kind of behavior from the commish. If you lose owners to that kind of crap it might be for the best...

I agree with Jestre, when I get those sorts of emails from leagues, I usually just delete them.

I wonder if this was included because common courtesy may also include coming to a public forum to announce someone else's wrongs. I am not saying spam email is correct thing to do, but coming to this board to put out the dirty laundry is not anymore correct. |

Old Man, he didn't name any names in the original post so its not really dirty laundry but more of a general complaint to the community.

One man is not the community. Yes no names used. Yes I understand and agree with the issue at hand.
Sorry but it is still sour grapes, and does not belong here. |

Then what will we have to talk about then. We have the bug reporting forum because that is sour grapes, and alot of people post on the other ootp4 board complaining about the game, and others post about problems they are having. So 60% of the posts are sour grapes.
