MLB2K7 vs The Show (PSP)

OK guys, I picked up both games for the PSP last night. A few prelim impressions:

MLB2K7

Game flows better than last year. Graphics look pretty much the same but they did remove that loud cannot shot you heard everytime someone hit the ball with bat.
Throwing is improved. No more laser beams from the outfielders. Still would like to see less accuracy, though, similar to how MVP2005 did their fielding system.
There is a new Pennant Race Mode which takes to all the way into August if your ADD prevents you from simming or playing a full season. Not a bad touch for those on the go.
New homerun derby (which I havent tried yet)
Commentary the same as last year.
Tournament Mode is back from last year (nice for people on the go who can't play 162 games or have always wanted to try an MLB tournament)

MLB07: The Show

Great new additions: Manager Only Mode is included this year! Perfect for a handheld game
New Road to the Show: automatically sims to your at-bats and fielding plays. From first impressions, this looks like a lot of fun. These are the only guys who have done a good career mode recently and I think its well implemented. Classic Career Mode is still available.
Adaptive Pitching Intelligence--haven't tried this out too much but the concept sounds neat. basically, you can lose confidence in one pitch thus rendering it less useful unless you work hard to reestblish confidence in it.
Graphics the same as last year (but they look great)
You have the option of having the catcher call the game for you (of course you can "shake him off" if you dont agree)
Only bad thing so far: some jitters on the framerates when a batter gets a hit but this wasn't a gamebreaker for me.

Overall, i would rank MLB The Show slightly better but I have a bias towards career mode. Either game is worthwhile in my opinion.

From what I've heard at work, quite a few people are liking The Show better.

I also got both. 2k7 is too buggy for me. I can pick guys off too easily. And my fielders throw to the wrong base every once in a while. Baserunning sucks.

The Show: except for the lag in frame rate, I love it. Hitting is hard, but baserunning is made so easy to control now.

It's no contest. The Show is good, not as good as last year because of the frame rate issues. 2k7 is barely average.

I have to say that, while I love the new features of 07 The Show, to me 06 played better and looked better. Tell me, is there a one pitch mode for manager mode? manager is awesome but sometimes it gets a bit yawn inducing.

No, you have to go through all the pitches. They really should do manager mode with one-pitch.

Over 120 players rated 90 or higher

I am never one to argue about ratings, but that is pretty insane to have 40% of posistion player rated 90 or higher

Yeah, I hate the way both rate players. To me, even a 90 should be just the elite with 100 being Pujols or Bonds. Oh well, I dont take theese games too seriously from a sim perspective. Just have fun with them so don't spend much time worrying about rosters or ratings.

One thing you might like is you can fast forward through a game. So lets say you want to "Eugene Church" the game to the 7th inning, you can and then go into Manager Mode.

Yeah, the overall ratings are a little messed up. If you go deeper into the ratings like power, contact and whatnot the ratings are not that crazy.
