Talking Features Update!

Here's what has been added in the past couple of weeks:

- Added off-field injuries (customizable) and players getting sick
- Added the ability to directly set the size of the amateur draft pool, seperate from the # of draft rounds
- Added the ability to reimport the names database
- Added the ability to reimport the injuries database
- Added a nation editor
- Added options for keeping past news/injury/transactions logs for X years. By default none are kept in order to save disk space.
- Added a player stats import & export function
- SISA is now more accurate and no longer returns blank ratings for certain players
- Added the option to display ratings above the selected scale (i.e. 100+)
- Added fielding stats to the "views" dropdown of a player list
- Added leagues to the "stats scope" dropdown of a player list
- The game remembers the settings & name when creating a human manager, and uses them when creating a new game

Nice work Markus.

Would it be difficult to have an editable navbar?

Nice additions. I can't recall being this excited for a game in a long time.

This is an excellent addition. Maybe for those players that want to play with Coaches/Scouting Off, this can one day be included as a choice of views. In other words, see real ratings or see SISA.

Not that I'm one of those players, I just recalled a recent comment from Kemp, I think, that didn't want C&S but also didn't want real ratings. In any event, great work Markus! Not enough can ever be said about how much we appreciate your direct and responsive involvement.

Can you, Markus, or anyone else, explain what all can be done with this feature:

- Added a player stats import & export function.

It sounds interesting and I'm trying to wrap my head around what it allows.

It dumps all career batting/pitching/fielding stats into a text file. There you could edit/add/remove stats and reimport them again. Roster makers will use this to put real minor league stats into the 2007 roster sets

this sounds great Markus!

One question about this function - if I have a pre-made MLB league starting in 2004 can I import MLB's history from 1900 - 2003 for the league?

Didn't know if this applied to the function or not...

thanks in advance

No, this only works when creating a historical league.

That's exactly what I've been looking for for a long time. I originally imported a league into OOTP2 from Earl Weaver II that I'd collected 12 years of stats in an Excel spreadsheet. Basically I had to make a Lahman-style database out of my spreadsheet and import hundreds of players one at a time. I finally got it to work about 90%, but some of the career stat imports still didn't work (some small percentage of career IP imported as zeros, for example. And the 1999 season stats never came in right.). This will make it much easier to finally go back and fix most of that.

Sounds great. What about the cities database file will there be the ability to import that as well back into the league? Whats the nation editor do? Give your the functionality of editing the nation file without having to decode it heh. Basically is this going to allow you to add/remove nations, change baseball level, etc while your league is running?

These 2 are great! Especially the first one. The off-field injuries are something I'll really enjoy, but the getting sick part? I'm not denying the fact that players do get sick, but I'm left wondering about this part. Will this be strictly sick as in Roy Halladay has the flu or a cold? Or will it be full out sickness like Jorge Posada has cancer? I'm not trying to sound morbid or anything, just really interested in one of the new features. The customizable part is definitely great.
