BBDL (1990) has two vacancies for GMs

The BBDL is a historical league currently at the start of the 1990 season, having commenced in 1984 with original rosters.

This league uses scouts and coaches, has an innovative financial incentive system for player milestones and team achievements, and has a salary cap. With a solid core of owners, we currently have 2 vacancies.

1. Milwaukee has a payroll of $56m, and has the talent to compete immediately. Name players include Greg Maddux (just 23 years of age!), Bruce Sutter, Kevin Appier, Rick Reed, Howard Johnson, Glenallen Hill and Brady Anderson.

2. Houston has a payroll of $59.5m and is a major rebuilding challenge due to an owner who turned this franchise into a train wreck between 1984 and 1989. Having said that, the Astros have some very good talent including Jamie Moyer, Ellis Burks, Tony Fernandez and Harold Baines. If you relish taking on a pirce of crap team and seeing what you can do with it, Houston is ideal for you.

Kansas City are currently in need of an owner. The league dateline is June 1990. The Royals have $4.4m cash in the bank and almost $6m of salary cap headroom, plus have no real potential contract extension problems this year.

Key players for the BBDL Royals are George Brett (still a force at 37yo - 8 for hits) and Steve Finley (25yo), and they have a great 1-2 punch in their rotation with Bret Saberhagen and Mark Gubicza. Having said that, in the long term the Royals are a work in progress, as they need bolstering in some areas, so they would suit an owner who is an experienced rebuilder.
