EWBBL is looking to fill some openings

Please read the second post in the thread for brand new signup info. The Info in this thread is now outdated.

The EWBBL has a number of openings available. We are a very detailed league that strives to be as realistic as possible. We started prior to the 2005 season and are currently in the midst of the 2012 season and have been running for over a year real time.

We're a fun league where ownership of OOTP is not required, as the commissioner, myself, plugs in all of the info into one league file, which makes this a league that is very easy to participate in for those guys who don't have a ton of free time. That's right, we are not an import/export league.

We use ootp 6.51a. Use of Aim is a must.

I strive to make things about as realistic to the MLB as I can, while altaring things slightly to make up for some of OOTP's vulnerabilities.

We are a very mature group of GMs, who are mostly college age and above. I've been around some leagues where they were very youth oriented, and that's just not my style. I'd prefer a league where the GMs handle themselves in a mature manner/

If you are interested in joining, these are the teams that are currently available...

Available Teams:
Chicago White Sox
Cleveland Indians
Florida Marlins
Los Angeles Angels
New York Mets
New York Yankees
Oakland Athletics
Philadelphia Phillies
Pittsburgh Pirates
Texas Rangers

A couple of these teams ARE first place teams. Texas represented the AL in the World Series last year. Chicago is in first place. The Marlins are a close second in their division. The Yankees, while struggling, have the most money to spend in baseball. The A's have al lthe makings of a team that can compete, except a GM to lead them there.

If you want to view the teams, you can do so here... or by clicking on the links.

The League Standings Page

If you decide you like one of the team, come and sign up for our message board. I realize that there are a lot of openings. It really does seem that it is hard to find good GMs these days. The group we have is excellent and we'd love to add you too.

Beware that I DO check IPs on new guys. We've had a few people try to do the multiple team thing. It's crappy, don't bother.

EWBBL Forums

and then in this thread is where you sign up for your team...

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an IM at Derek4jc, if I'm not around, the message board is the best place to head. I would suggest at least signing up for the board before you IM me tho

Hope to see some of you sign up.

Due to a lack of interest, possibly due to us not being an import/export league, I'm now opening up the league to import/export owners. You can still signup without having the game, but we now offer both options.

We are heading toward our 2013 offseason this weekend. If you are interested in a team, which included two playoff teams in Chicago and Florida, then please sign up via the board. I'm in the process of re-going through the league rules thread and re-doing it to keep it neater looking, but the info you'd need to know...

We use all features except minor league free agency. We run 40 man rosters with MLB rules (aka you can't remove someone without waivers.) We use real DL rules, (aka you can't stash a guy on the 60 day to protect service time unless you have a full 40, and need his 40 spot for someone else.) We've implimented a training camp that will begin this offseason.

Hopefully this brings some interest to those of you looking for a new league. As a commish, I'm never later. All sims happen on time. We started in the 2005 season, and are about to begin the 2013 season and we've never not had a sim unless I gave notice.

Aim is a must, as far as communicating goes.

Other than that, please sign up for the board before you consider IMing me, I can't really do much without you signed up for the league board. EVERYTHING runs through there. Also, most of the time I have an away message up, so your best move is to sign up for a team through the board (link in the first post)... and let me get back to you through IM.

Thanks!
Derek4jc (D.O. on the EWBBL boards)

This is a league ran by a hard working commissioner. He does a lot of good stuff to keep the league running. If you have questions that D.O. can't answer, I can answer'em.
