Padres 2006 - 2007 Hot Stove
I want to start this off with...
Please God, don't do this to us... So who do you think is best of the candidates to replace Bochy?

There are a lot of free agents that the Padres are eyeing on, and rightfully so, they cleared out almost $30,000,000 in payroll with the departure of Chan Ho Park, Ryan Klesko and Woody Williams. Barry Zito, Aramis Ramirez, Carlos Lee and Aubrey Huff are players I like the Padresto go after. And of course, re-sign Dave Roberts.

I like the idea of bringing Dusty in... puts a little pressure on guys that have NEVER MANAGED ONE DAY IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES!!
Sorry. Anyway, a part of me thinks it is just the tokken black guy interview. But who knows. The guy can manage. Given what he had to work with in Chicago, it is no wonder he aint there anymore. Given what the Padres have, I think he would be a real asset.

Unfortunately, that's the same exact thought I had. Also don't forget, the last thing we need is runners clogging up the bases!
I'd like to see one of the new guys get a chance. Managment experience is overrated. How many years had Ozzie Guillen been a manager before the White Sox won a World Series? Just so I understand the logic, we should hire someone like Baker who's been fired and the team would have to pay more money for instead of an experienced coach that has never managed? This is why the old boys network never really changes in baseball, it's just the same guys failing in different places.

Dear Padres,
Please sign Barry Zito. We don't want him to end up a Yankee or Angel. Also he would do well in your gigantic park. Sincerely, A's Fans.
