Longest Game

What's the longest game you guys have seen? I just had a 19 inning game in my online league. My team scored 8 runs in the 9th inning to force extra innings and I ended up losing in the 19th. Here's the box score: http://ootp.oldredboat.com/news/html...e_box_481.html

Some facts:
- The game lasted 6:36
- 21 combined runs
- 42 combined hits
- 22 combined walks
- 30 combined K's
- 39 combined LOB
- Pavila, for the opposing team, hit for the cycle, going 6-10 in the game. His HR came in the top of 19th and ended up being the game winner.

Or injured? Especially if the next day was not an off day.

Aguitar, who pitched 4 innings in this game pitched another 2.1 the next day. This happened on Saturday of a very weird week for my team. I swept a team in a 4 game series to lead off the week then got swept by Pawtucket who I now lead by just a half game.

You mean he got injured, right, probably from being overworked?

That's one of the dumb things about AI minor league roster management that I noticed when managing down there. The AI GM would carry a pitching staff of only 8 pitchers or so in A through AAA. Some of these would break down due to overuse (leading to a higher chance of injury, a possibility that I have read of elsewhere). Meanwhile, there would be 20 or 30 extra pitchers in the rookie league doing nothing but spitting and chewing, I guess.

I once played a Strat-o-Matic game that went 27 innings!

I once had 27 innings, no score till the top of the 27th inning. Then it was 1-0. Then the home team came back to win it on a 2 run shot with a runner on second.

The game had something like 35 combined hits. It lasted 9 hours.

According to the LOB stats there were 80 runners left on base in the game.....glitch?

Those numbers count the same guys left on base. So if there's a guy on 2nd and player A gets out, it counts as LOB for him. If player B then gets out it also counts as LOB for him. The thing to look for is Team LOB which is down near the fielding stats, etc.

Ahhhhh. I didn't notice that. I also thought the numbers tended to look funny.

Might be the best relief performance ever, by Umbarger (excluding the Ruth-Shore game, of course). Interesting to see Boggs and Ripken in the boxscore.
