Yes you can uninstall and reinstall without any problems. Just go to the control panel and then to add remove programs and choose OOTP 2006. Remove the game and reboot. Then reinstall the game and reboot. That is what I would try first. Please report back and let me know if that works.

does not work - is it possible computer does not recognize .tar or GZ file???
i uninstalled and installed again without a flaw. I did .exe for demo and patch (but not .dsg).
When i go into saved game/major league dreams 2006.lg folder, I can see the file from the league file being downloaded, but it has one of those windows icons (the four colored squares). Sometimes that seems like it is a file a computer does not understand. Did I have to load the .dsg file? What the heck is going on? Yanx |

As for the folder you are talking about, is this an online league that you are downloading?

still doesnt work
i loaded winrar file/folder to c
rogram files/winrar/then i tried to down load league file from internet to data/saved games/majorleaguedreams2006.lg which again seemed to work ok. However, when i tried to open file within ootp2006 game, still got it to load 7% then wigged out again. Yanx Is it possible to get refund if I can't get this to work? I've probably spent about 10 hours trying to get it to work. |

1. Download the league file from your online league to the desktop. 2. Go to your desktop and doubleclick on the file, winrar should open it. 3. Once the file is opened in winrar, choose extract from the top of the program. 4. Then in the window that opens select your OOTP folder/data/saved_games as the directory. 5. Choose the option for all files/folders in the archive. 6. Make sure the checkbox for use folder names is checked. 7. Now click extract. 8. Winrar will extract the files to the data_saved_games folder. 9. Now open up OOTP and choose load game, selecting your newly extracted league. That should do it. The file you are downloading from your online league is a compressed file and that is why you need to extract it first before OOTP will recognize it. Please report back.

doesnt work yet
STOP AT SAVED GAMES RIGHT (NOT SAVED GAMES/MAJOR LEAGUE DREAMS 2006.LG) 5. Choose the option for all files/folders in the archive. (I COULDNT FIND THIS OPTION SO I TRIED TO HIGHLIGHT THE TOP FOLDER WHICH DIDNT WORK THEN I TRIED TO HIGHLIGHT ALL FOLDERS AND FILES AND THAT DIDNT WORK) 6. Make sure the checkbox for use folder names is checked. NEVER SAW CHECKBOX 7. Now click extract. 8. Winrar will extract the files to the data_saved_games folder. 9. Now open up OOTP and choose load game, selecting your newly extracted league. SAME THING....LOADED 7% THEN BOMBED BY THE WAY, PRIOR TO DOING THIS I DELETED ALL RELATED FILES SO I COULD START FROM SCRATCH. yANX |

Can you play other OOTP 2006 games on this machine? For example, if you create a new game?
Do you have the exact same version # as the other players in your league? The version # can be seen on the 1st screen of the game, in the lower left corner. Can you show me where you download this league file, so I can try it too? After you have downloaded the files, can you tell me what the MAJOR LEAGUE DREAMS 2006.LG folder looks like? What files are in that directory? It should look something like this (see graphic at bottom). My guess is that SI is not likely to refund you for this scenario, since the fact that the other GMs in your league can download the file indicates that there is nothing wrong with the game, but more likely something wrong with your PC. Or, we just haven't gotten the steps quite clear enough yet. Steve Last edited by battists; 04-19-2007 at 04:02 PM. |

I got it!!!!
4. Then in the window that opens select your OOTP folder/data/saved_games as the directory. STOP AT SAVED GAMES RIGHT (NOT SAVED GAMES/MAJOR LEAGUE DREAMS 2006.LG)
I started all over and it happened again....looking at your file screen shot, I decided to extract to data/saved games/major league dreams 2006.lg rather than data/saved games.....and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your help.....yanx |
